Skin Clinic

Dr. Caroline Feeney runs an acne clinic at Grantstown Medical and prescribes Isotretinoin (Roaccutane) to patients that meet the criteria for it. Isotretinoin is used to treat severe and scarring acne that has proven resistant to previous treatments.

This is considered a controlled medication and requires strict monitoring including regular blood testing, side effect management and mental health evaluation.

Dermatology

Dr Caroline Feeney has a special interest in dermatology, having completed a post graduate diploma in dermatology from Cardiff University, further training in dermoscopy and is a member of the Primary Care Dermatology Society of Ireland (PCDSI).

Female patients

All female patients of childbearing age need to be on adequate contraception to prevent pregnancy on this medication and are required to carry out pregnancy testing prior to starting and monthly for the duration of the treatment.

Who can avail of this clinic?

Dr Feeney is happy to see patients from other practices for Isotretinoin prescribing.

Schedule of Clinic

The cost of this is typically €100 for the first consultation, €75 for subsequent consultations and nurse visits for blood testing & pregnancy test is €30.
